Softball Recap: Alabama Christian Academy's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Alabama Christian Academy came into Thursday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Stanhope Elmore Mustangs by a score of 10-6 on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Mustangs back in March, they had to take a 14-3 defeat.

Madolyn Traywick was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Izzy Warrick, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Elizabeth Hall was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Alabama Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 12-15. As for Stanhope Elmore, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-12.

Coming up, Alabama Christian Academy will welcome Montgomery Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Stanhope Elmore, they will head out on the road to take on Wetumpka at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
