Football Recap: Capital Comes Up Short

After flying high against Oak Hill last Friday, Capital came back down to earth. The Cougars came up short against the Spring Valley Timberwolves on Friday, falling 28-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 52-26 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Capital suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 4-3. As for Spring Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Capital will face off against George Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Spring Valley, they will take on Woodrow Wilson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Timberwolves will be up against the Flying Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
