Soccer Recap: Veterans Memorial Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Veterans Memorial's offense. They came up short against the Economedes Jaguars on Friday, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Jaguars are ranked 34th).

Veterans Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5-1. As for Economedes, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-1-1 record this season.

Veterans Memorial will face off against Edinburg North at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st. Economedes has already played their next matchup (against San Benito), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
