Baseball Game Preview: Keystone Oaks Golden Eagles vs. Winchester Thurston

The Keystone Oaks Golden Eagles are taking a road trip to take on Winchester Thurston at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Golden Eagles fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They put the hurt on Brentwood with a sharp 14-1 victory on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 10, 2024.

Keystone Oaks let Shane Falcone and Roman Keaney run wild. Falcone went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs, while Keaney went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Bryce Altenbaugh, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Winchester Thurston earned a 12-7 win over Washington on Tuesday.

Lucas Picher was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Picher was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Winchester Thurston got a massive performance out of Benji Smuckler, who scored two runs and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-4. Austin Lenhardt-Barley was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
