            Baseball Preview: Ledyard Colonels vs. Plainfield Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            The Ledyard Colonels are taking a road trip to  square off against the Plainfield Panthers  at 2:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Ledyard might be feeling deja-vu: they lost  5-3 to Stonington, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The  defeat   continues a  trend for the Colonels in their meetings with the Bears: they've now lost four in a row.
  Jeff Duerr and  Carson Luther did some serious damage despite the final result:  Duerr  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances, while  Luther  went 2-for-4 with two  stolen bases and three  RBI.
Meanwhile, Plainfield came up short against  Norwich RVT on Monday, falling  13-2. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Plainfield saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Tony Navan, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
 Ledyard's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Plainfield, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-3.
 Everything went Ledyard's way against Plainfield when the teams last played  back in May of 2019, as Ledyard made off with  a  10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colonels since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
