Baseball Recap: Buena Comes Up Short

Buena fell victim to Vista Grande and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vista Grande Spartans. The match marked the first time this season in which the Colts were not able to get on the board.

Buena saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Barrett, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Buena and nudges their season record down to 7-5. As for Vista Grande, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2-1.

Looking ahead, Buena will be playing at home against Sunnyside at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Sunnyside's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Buena's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Vista Grande, they will venture away from home to square off against Marana at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Vista Grande is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
