Volleyball Recap: Heritage Eagles vs. Castle View Sabercats

After flying high against Regis Jesuit on Wednesday, Heritage came back down to earth. The Eagles fell 3-1 to the Castle View Sabercats on Thursday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sabercats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Heritage had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 15-25, 25-21, 25-21.

Madeline Pyne paced Heritage's offense, picking up 13 kills. Pyne got some help from Molly Pyne and her 21 assists. Maddy Davis controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Castle View can attribute much of their success to Bradli Brown, who had ten digs and six assists. That's the most assists Brown has posted since back in September. Payton Rowell also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Castle View, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season.

Heritage didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Denver East on the 14th. As for Castle View, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Regis Jesuit at 6:00 p.m. on the 21st.
