Baseball Game Preview: Claude Mustangs vs. Valley Patriots

For the second straight game, Claude will face off against Valley. Claude will head out to face off against Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Claude is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by an 18-8 margin over Valley on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won seven in a row.

Brian Campbell was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with six RBI, four runs, and two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Brady Shelton was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Shelton is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Korbin Jackson, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-7-1. As for Valley, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
