Basketball Recap: Coginchaug Regional Beats Morgan for Their Third Straight Win

Coginchaug Regional won the last time they faced Morgan, and Sophie Farr did her part to make sure it happened again. The Coginchaug Regional Blue Devils sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-43 win over the Morgan Huskies on Tuesday thanks in part to Farr, who shot 42% from the field en route to 32 points. Farr is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Morgan's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Teuner, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Sadie Passante, who posted 16 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

The victory (which was Coginchaug Regional's third in a row) raised their record to 20-3. As for Morgan, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 18-5 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coginchaug Regional will welcome Canton at 6:30 p.m. on March 5th. As for Morgan, they will look to defend their home court on March 5th against Thomaston at 6:30 p.m.
