Baseball Recap: Floyd Central Takes a Loss

If Floyd Central was riding high fresh off their 12-2 takedown of Madison on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Highlanders took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Albany Bulldogs on Wednesday. The Highlanders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Floyd Central now has a losing record of 3-4. As for New Albany, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Coming up, Floyd Central will square off against St. Xavier at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Highlanders' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for New Albany, they are taking a road trip to challenge Jasper at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
