Basketball Recap: Oak Ridge Skates Past Laguna Creek with Ease

Oak Ridge had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They claimed a resounding 85-53 victory over the Laguna Creek Cardinals. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Leading Oak Ridge to victory were Kaleb Edwards and Lucas Cutler. Edwards almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds, while Cutler dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards. The contest was Edwards' third in a row with at least ten points. Connor Sullivan was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Laguna Creek lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jordan Boyce, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 13 points. Another player making a difference was Koa Jones, who posted seven points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Oak Ridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Laguna Creek, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Oak Ridge has already played their next match, a 71-60 loss against Granite Bay on the 6th. As for Laguna Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-63 win against Elk Grove on the 8th.
