Basketball Recap: Metrolina Christian Academy Snags Fifth Win in Last Six Games

Metrolina Christian Academy won the last time they faced South Charlotte, and Emily King did her part to make sure it happened again. The Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors claimed a resounding 72-43 victory over the South Charlotte Thunder thanks in part to King, who went 10 of 15 from beyond the arc on her way to 43 points along with eight steals and six boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.4 steals per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Carlson, who posted seven points in addition to nine boards and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played.

Metrolina Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for South Charlotte, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Metrolina Christian Academy will face off against Greater Cabarrus S at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Charlotte, they will take on South Guilford HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Guilford HomeSchool's defense has only allowed 25.6 points per game this season, so South Charlotte's offense will have their work cut out for them.
