Basketball Game Preview: West Carroll Thunder vs. Stockton Blackhawks

West Carroll is 0-10 against Stockton since January of 2020 but things could change on Wednesday. The West Carroll Thunder will host the Stockton Blackhawks at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Thursday, West Carroll was beaten by River Ridge/Scales Mound 65-22. While losing is never fun, the Thunder can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 601st, while the Wildcats are ranked 126th).

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Stockton's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost 48-23 to Pecatonica. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Blackhawks have suffered since November 21, 2024.

Stockton's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6. As for West Carroll, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

West Carroll was dealt a bruising 60-29 defeat at the hands of Stockton in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can West Carroll avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
