Devils Lake will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Minot North extended their winning streak to six on Friday. Minot North breezed past Watford City to the tune of 43-0. Given Minot North's advantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Watford City is ranked 26th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Devils Lake hadn't done well against St. Mary's Central recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Firebirds blew past the Saints, posting a 55-14 win. That looming 55-14 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Firebirds yet this season.

Devils Lake's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Minot North, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.

Minot North strolled past Devils Lake when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 35-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for Minot North since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
