Basketball Recap: Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Comes Up Short

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Norfolk Christian Ambassadors, falling 89-18. The Saints were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-8.

Norfolk Christian found their leader in sophomore Keira Kilkenny, who went 11 for 16 on her way to 25 points and seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Abuna Ruop, who almost dropped a triple-double on 12 points, nine rebounds, and nine blocks.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Norfolk Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nansemond-Suffolk Academy will head out to face off against Norfolk Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Norfolk Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Peninsula Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
