Baseball Game Preview: Mount Anthony Patriots vs. Fair Haven Slaters

The Mount Anthony Patriots are taking a road trip to take on the Fair Haven Slaters at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mount Anthony will be strutting in after a win while Fair Haven will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, Mount Anthony was able to grind out a solid victory over Hoosick Falls, taking the game 6-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Reily Granger tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jacoby Dicranian, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Armstrong, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Fair Haven was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Bellows Falls, falling 34-13. While the Slaters didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Terriers 7-0 in the first period.

Fair Haven's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Mount Anthony, their win bumped their record up to 2-0-1.

Mount Anthony skirted past Fair Haven 2-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Slaters turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
