Recap: Crest Lancers vs. Humboldt Cubs
There's no place like home for the Crest Lancers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They strolled past Humboldt with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 44-27. For Crest, this counts as revenge for the 53-31 defeat Humboldt walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Leading Crest to victory were Rogan Weir and Ryan Golden. Weir scored 13 points along with five assists and two steals, while Golden dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Golden has scored at least a third of Crest's points. Jacob Zimmerman was another key contributor, scoring five points along with nine rebounds.
Despite the loss, Humboldt still got an impressive performance from Sam Hull, who scored ten points.
The win got Crest back to even at 4-4. As for Humboldt, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-2.
Crest will head out on the road to face off against Northeast at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Humboldt, they will square off against Yates Center at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Yates Center is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
