Baseball Recap: Wickliffe Find Success

Wickliffe won the last time they faced Harvey and things went their way on Monday too. The Blue Devils came out on top against the Red Raiders by a score of 12-8. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Liam Widemire made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-5.

In other batting news, Nunzio Zivnoska and Frankie Bucar did most of the damage at the plate: Zivnoska scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5, while Bucar scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Zivnoska has been hot recently, having also posted at least one triple the last three times he's played. Logan Ruscin was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Wickliffe's record now sits at 4-1. As for Harvey, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Wickliffe will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Red Raiders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
