Basketball Recap: Javion Harris' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Dublin over Fannin County

Dublin and Fannin County squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Dublin had to settle for second. They lost 74-53 to the Fannin County Rebels. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Fighting Irish came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the Rebels are ranked 267th).

Several Fighting Irish players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Javion Harris, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 16 points. Harris is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 56% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Aj Johnson, who posted 15 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Dublin's loss dropped their record down to 22-6. As for Fannin County, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.

As of now, neither Dublin nor Fannin County have any future games scheduled.
