Basketball Game Preview: Blue Ridge Early College Bobcats vs. Robbinsville Black Knights

Blue Ridge Early College hasn't had much luck against Robbinsville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Blue Ridge Early College Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Robbinsville Black Knights at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Blue Ridge Early College is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 70-27 loss at the hands of Andrews.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Brooklyn Kenney, who posted 15 points and eight steals. That was a full 55.6% of Blue Ridge Early College's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of McKenzie Woods, who posted six points along with eight boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Robbinsville entered their matchup against North Buncombe on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Robbinsville took a 55-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Buncombe. The Black Knights just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Robbinsville's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-5. As for Blue Ridge Early College, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Blue Ridge Early College was dealt a bruising 56-11 loss at the hands of Robbinsville in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Blue Ridge Early College was down 39-2.
