Baseball Recap: Agua Fria Takes a Loss

Agua Fria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cactus Cobras. The Owls were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cobras from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Andrew Calderon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Aidan Gomez, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Agua Fria's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Cactus, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.

Coming up, Cactus will welcome Ironwood at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Cactus' pitchers better be ready for this one: Ironwood has averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. Agua Fria will be paying especially close attention to Cactus' contest: after Cactus faces off against Ironwood, they'll take on Agua Fria again at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
