Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine's Winning Streak

After flying high against Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City last Saturday, Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine came back down to earth. Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine fell 56-46 to the Altamont Indians on Tuesday. Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine lost against Altamont in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 75-39 score last time.

Leading Altamont to victory were Kade Milleville and Cooper Mcmanaway. Milleville went 6 for 12 on his way to 17 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds, while Mcmanaway went 6 of 10 en route to 19 points. Milleville has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Benjamin Roedl, who posted six points and six boards.

The loss snapped Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-10 record. As for Altamont, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-8.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Dieterich the next time they take the court. Altamont will host Dieterich at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
