Basketball Game Preview: Tocoi Creek Toros vs. Creekside Knights

Tocoi Creek hasn't had much luck against Creekside recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Tocoi Creek Toros will head out to take on the Creekside Knights at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Tocoi Creek beat Episcopal School of Jacksonville 46-41. Given the Toros' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Eagles are ranked 161st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Creekside waltzed into their game on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They managed a 47-43 win over the Yellow Jackets.

Tocoi Creek's victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Creekside, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Tocoi Creek came up short against Creekside in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 79-69. Can Tocoi Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
