Baseball Game Preview: Carmel Christian Cougars vs. Combine Academy National Goats

The Carmel Christian Cougars will face off against the Combine Academy National Goats at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday. Carmel Christian will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

On Thursday, Carmel Christian needed a bit of extra time to put away Legion Collegiate Academy. They won by a run and slipped past the Lancers 11-10. The win was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Caden Tarr was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Carmel Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Leyton Guhl was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one home run and four RBI.

Tarr wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Carmel Christian lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. Carmel Christian is a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more home runs.

Meanwhile, Combine Academy National scored first but ultimately less than Ambassador Christian School in their contest on Tuesday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions.

Combine Academy National now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Carmel Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
