St. Vincent de Paul is 9-1 against Sonoma Academy since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs will be playing at home against the Sonoma Academy Coyotes  at 4:00  p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
St. Vincent de Paul came into their game  on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against  Redwood Christian, falling  20-8.
 Gavin Andres put in work while hitting and pitching. He  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   three  hits. Andres was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
 Andres wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Will Hankins, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  stolen bases. Those  two  stolen bases gave  Hankins a new career-high.
 Meanwhile,  after soaring to ten  runs the game before, Sonoma Academy was a bit more limited  in their  game  on Tuesday. They lost  9-2 to Piner. The Coyotes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 St. Vincent de Paul now  has a losing record of 1-2. As for Sonoma Academy, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp  on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. St. Vincent de Paul has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 3.7  stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Sonoma Academy struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 7  stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
 St. Vincent de Paul took their  win against Sonoma Academy  in their previous matchup  back in February of 2024 by a conclusive  10-4. Does  St. Vincent de Paul have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sonoma Academy turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
