Baseball Recap: Mica Mountain Comes Up Short

Mica Mountain lost against ALA - Queen Creek back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mica Mountain Thunderbolts fell just short of the ALA - Queen Creek Patriots by a score of 6-5. That's two games in a row now that the Thunderbolts have lost by just one run.

Ethan Hunt made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Raydon Rocha also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Mica Mountain dropped their record down to 1-4-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for ALA - Queen Creek, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Coming up, Mica Mountain will challenge Mountain View at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Mica Mountain has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for ALA - Queen Creek, they will square off against Mesa at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Mesa has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.83 runs per game on average), something ALA - Queen Creek will no doubt try to take advantage of.
