Basketball Recap: Aariel Jemison Key Part of Team Effort in Vikings Win

White Oak won the last time they faced Havelock and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Vikings enjoyed a cozy 37-21 victory over the Rams. The Vikings pushed the score to 33-10 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rams cut but never quite recovered from.

White Oak's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aariel Jemison, who posted 15 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Jemison is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Sidney Ferguson was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

The victory made it two in a row for White Oak and bumps their season record up to 3-2. As for Havelock, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. White Oak will face off against Croatan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Havelock, they will venture away from home to face off against Pamlico County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
