Baseball Recap: Escambia Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Escambia won against Pine Forest last Friday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Escambia Gators put the hurt on the St. Andrew's Episcopal Saints with a sharp 11-1 victory. The Gators have beaten the Saints the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Saints has come to flipping the script.

JR Riley looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Christian Stone, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Jackson Camargo was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Escambia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .529. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in five consecutive games.

Escambia pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for St. Andrew's Episcopal, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Escambia has already played their next matchup, an 8-2 defeat against Tate on the 12th. As for St. Andrew's Episcopal, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-3 victory against McGill-Toolen on the 12th.
