Baseball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

If Independence was feeling good fresh off their 13-3 takedown of Rocky River on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Patriots fell 9-4 to the Butler Bulldogs on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-3 on Tuesday.

Jack Telarico was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Independence has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. As for Butler, they pushed their record up to 17-7 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

As of now, neither Independence nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
