Baseball Recap: Vista PEAK Prep Find Success

On Thursday, the Vista PEAK Prep Bison were able to grind out a solid win over the Grand Junction Central Warriors, taking the game 8-3.

Abel Salinas made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Salinas was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Eric Houser was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Vista PEAK Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grand Junction Central only managed six hits.

The victory got Vista PEAK Prep back to even at 1-1. As for Grand Junction Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Vista PEAK Prep will head out on the road to challenge Grand Junction at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grand Junction Central, they will venture away from home to face off against Rifle at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Grand Junction Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
