Basketball Recap: Everglades City Takes a Loss

Everglades City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 79-64 bruising from the LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls.

LaBelle's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Giovanni Beaver, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 14 points and six steals. Those six steals gave Beaver a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Arrie Davis Jr., who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Everglades City's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for LaBelle, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4.

Everglades City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 76-25 victory against Mason Classical Academy on the 7th. As for LaBelle, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 61-32 win against Clewiston on the 7th.
