Softball Recap: Stansbury Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Stansbury dropped their record down to 9-8 on Saturday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins at home. They lost 10-4 to the Sky View Bobcats. The Stallions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Bonnie Barnett made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Savannah Merritt, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

As for Sky View, their record now sits at 9-15. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for their hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

On Sky View's side, the team relied heavily on Samantha Bender, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Those two hits gave Bender a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylie Beckstead, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Coincidentally, Stansbury and Sky View will both be playing Timpanogos the next time they take the field. The Bobcats will head out to face the Timberwolves at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Stallions will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
