Preview: Putnam County War Eagles vs. Butler Bulldogs
After three games on the road, Putnam County is heading back home. They will take on the Butler Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Putnam County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 19 matchups -- so hopefully Butler likes a good challenge.
Even though Laney scored an imposing 75 points on Friday, Putnam County still came out on top. Putnam County snuck past Laney with a 81-75 victory.
Landon Bonner continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 40 points and 11 rebounds. Jeremy Banks was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Butler posted their biggest win since December 12, 2023 on Saturday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 68-40 victory over Laney. Given Butler's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while Laney is ranked 219th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Putnam County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Butler, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.
