Basketball Game Preview: Johnson City Eagles vs. Junction Eagles

The Johnson City Eagles will head out to take on the Junction Eagles at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Wednesday, Johnson City was beaten by San Saba 63-35. The Eagles have struggled against the Armadillos recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Junction was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 60-30 defeat at the hands of Goldthwaite. While losing is never fun, Junction can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1370th, while Goldthwaite is ranked 379th).

Junction's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Johnson City, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-6.

Johnson City took their win against Junction in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 48-24. The rematch might be a little tougher for Johnson City since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
