Softball Recap: Frontier Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Frontier had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They blew past the Trinity Christian Warriors 14-3. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by exactly 11 runs.

Grace Arnold and Keeley Barrows did most of the damage at the plate: Arnold went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Barrows went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs and two RBI. Those five hits gave Barrows a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Livingston, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Frontier was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .594. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Frontier's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Trinity Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.

Looking ahead, Frontier will take on Caldwell at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Trinity Christian, they will face off against Fairmont Senior at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Polar Bears have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
