Griffith is 1-9 against Hanover Central since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Panthers will challenge the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Griffith comes in on nine and Hanover Central on five.
Griffith is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They never let Hammond Bishop Noll get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Panthers have won 16 games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Brylie Bridges made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Natalie Vianello, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Elena Rivas, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Hanover Central beat Kankakee Valley 7-2 on Friday.
Like Griffith, Hanover Central also got a great game from a two-way player: Jillian DeYoung. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. DeYoung was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles.
In other batting news, Sienna Stilley was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Kaylee Blocker was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Griffith's win bumped their record up to 25-2. As for Hanover Central, their victory bumped their record up to 22-6.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Griffith has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Hanover Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Griffith came out on top in a nail-biter against Hanover Central in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 7-5. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
