Volleyball Recap: Chaparral Takes a Loss

Chaparral lost against Sterling back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Roadrunners fell 2-0 to the Black Bears.

Chaparral was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-23.

Makiya Maka paced Chaparral's offense, picking up 12 kills. Maka got some help from Emily Harding and her 19 assists. Maka was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Chaparral's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Sterling, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8-1.

Coincidentally, Chaparral and Sterling will both be playing Ellinwood the next time they take the court. The Black Bears will head out to face the Eagles at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Roadrunners will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
