Baseball Game Preview: The Habersham School Patriots vs. Jenkins Warriors

The Habersham School Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Jenkins Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with eight defeats in a row dating back to last season, The Habersham School turned things around against Coastal HomeSchool on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Hurricanes 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Patriots have posted since March 15, 2024.

The Habersham School let B Vaughn and T Fowler run wild. Vaughn scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances, while Fowler scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was G Smith, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Jenkins narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past First Preparatory Christian Academy 12-11. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

The team relied heavily on Pedro Fabian, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.3 stolen bases per game. Jackson McKenzie was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Jenkins' record is now 3-4. As for The Habersham School, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
