Pilgrim entered their tilt with Prout on Wednesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top against the Crusaders by a score of 5-1. The Patriots have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Crusaders, too.

Gretchen Dombeck spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Pilgrim let Madison Tuirok and Genna D'Amato run wild. Tuirok went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs, while D'Amato went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most hits D'Amato has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Marin Prest, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Pilgrim was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Prout only posted a batting average of .192.

Pilgrim pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Prout, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Pilgrim wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-6 loss against La Salle Academy on the 15th. As for Prout, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-5 win against Westerly on the 17th.
