Basketball Recap: Wells Drops Highest Score of Season Against Apple Springs

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wells). They breezed by the Apple Springs Eagles to the tune of 92-52 on Tuesday. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Apple Springs still got an impressive performance from Bradyn Kaufman, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 13 points and three blocks. Those three blocks gave Kaufman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cooper Campbell, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.

Wells pushed their record up to 23-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Apple Springs, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.

Wells will host Kennard at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Kennard has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Apple Springs, they will challenge Centerville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Centerville has three straight victories, Apple Springs has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
