Baseball Game Preview: Mountain Home Tigers vs. Buhl Indians

Mountain Home has gone 7-0-1 against Buhl recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Mountain Home Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Buhl Indians at 4:30 p.m. Mountain Home has given up an average of 12.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Mountain Home is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Kimberly by a score of 21-17 on Saturday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Andrew Chapman made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was even better at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Easton Vivier, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Landon Keener, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with five RBI and two runs.

Mountain Home always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Buhl came up short against Fruitland on Saturday and fell 6-1. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Buhl's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Mountain Home, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Buhl's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mountain Home hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322.
