Basketball Recap: Saint Gertrude Comes Up Short

Saint Gertrude was the 55-44 winner over St. Margaret when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Saint Gertrude Gators took a hard 72-54 fall against the St. Margaret's Scotties on Thursday. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Paula Carrillo was the offensive standout of the match as she posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Tara Vulovic, who scored 11 points.

Saint Gertrude's record is now 11-9. As for St. Margaret's, their victory bumped their record up to 13-7.

Saint Gertrude will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against St. Anne's-Belfield at 6:00 p.m. As for St. Margaret's, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Christchurch School at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
