Basketball Recap: Newcomb Central Comes Up Short

Newcomb Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 69-39 defeat at the hands of the Lake Placid Bombers. The Huskies were down 61-31 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Lake Placid was led to victory by Ellie Shipman and Anisa Cecunjanin. Shipman posted 27 points, while Cecunjanin had 23 points. Those 27 points gave Shipman a new career-high.

Newcomb Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Lake Placid, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-11 record this season.

Newcomb Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lake Placid, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Boquet Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
