Football Recap: Niles Notre Dame Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Niles Notre Dame extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-3. They had to suffer through a 48-13 loss at the hands of the St. Rita Mustangs. The Dons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-6.

As for St. Rita, they moved to 2-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

St. Rita was led to victory by Brandon Johnson Jr. and Steven Armbruster. Johnson Jr. rushed for 110 yards and two scores, while Armbruster threw for 186 yards and one TD. Those 110 rushing yards gave Johnson Jr. a new career-high. 86 of Armbruster's passing yards were hauled in by Walter Jones.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Niles Notre Dame will venture away from home to face off against Joliet Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Dons will be up against the Hilltoppers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.8 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for St. Rita, they will take on Nazareth Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
