The Glens Falls Black Bears will head out on the road to square off against the Schuylerville Horses at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Glens Falls is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Glens Falls got the win against Gloversville by a conclusive 23-4. The victory continues a trend for the Black Bears in their matchups with the Huskies/Dragons: they've now won six in a row.

Jilyse Owira looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Parker McTague was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Canale, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.

Glens Falls always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Schuylerville's offense. They lost 9-0 to South Glens Falls on Wednesday. The match marked the first time this year in which the Horses were not able to get on the board.

Glens Falls' win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Schuylerville, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8-1.

Glens Falls came out on top in a nail-biter against Schuylerville in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Black Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
