Softball Recap: Loogootee Comes Up Short

Loogootee made up a huge gap compared to their last game against South Knox, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lions fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 13-11 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Lions have suffered since April 21st.

Loogootee got a massive performance out of Brynn Lengacher, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Brianna Eckerle, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Loogootee has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. As for South Knox, they pushed their record up to 7-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Loogootee will challenge North Daviess at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Knox does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
