Volleyball Recap: Regents Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Regents, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They skirted past the West Memphis Christian Black Knights 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Black Knights back in August, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

While Regents might've won, it sure wasn't easy: West Memphis Christian scored at least nine points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-20, 25-20, 22-25, 15-9.

Selah Meurrier paced Regents' offense, picking up 24 kills. Meurrier got some help from Maddie Niemeyer and her 40 assists. Niemeyer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Regents' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6. As for West Memphis Christian, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 20-3 record.

Coming up, Regents will welcome Ingomar at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Memphis Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against First Assembly Christian on the 30th.
