It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Olathe West had no problem doing just that on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Washburn Rural Blues 8-7. The Owls' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Maliyah Warren was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those doubles were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brevyn Kellepouris, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Olathe West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Olathe West's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Washburn Rural, they moved to 5-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Olathe West nor the Blues have any future games scheduled.
