Volleyball Game Preview: Leetonia Bears vs. Bridgeport Bulldogs

The Leetonia Bears will take on the Bridgeport Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Monday, Leetonia didn't have quite enough to beat McKinley and fell 3-2. While the Bears didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Trojans 25-19 in the first set.

Leetonia actually scored more points across those five sets (104-97), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-20, 13-25, 25-23, 15-11.

Despite the defeat, Leetonia got top-tier performance from Payton Gray, who had ten digs and eight aces. Chloe Williams was another key player, getting 14 digs and three aces.

Meanwhile, Bridgeport came up short against Buckeye Local on Thursday, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-9, 25-20.

Bridgeport's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Leetonia, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-18.
