Softball Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ridgeview, Trinity Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the First Coast Christian Knights with a sharp 18-3 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Conquerors as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Madelyn Lasater made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Trinity Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Sawyer Butacan, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those stolen bases marked the first that Butacan snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Julianna Chavez, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Trinity Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Trinity Christian Academy's record now sits at 2-4. As for First Coast Christian, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Trinity Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-0 win against Old Plank Christian Academy on the 13th. As for First Coast Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 13-11 victory against Eagle's View on the 13th.
